Compulsory military service in Greece has increased by 3 months and returns to 12 months, Ethnos reported.
However, the 9-month compulsory military service will continue to apply to those who serve all their months of military service at the Greek-Turkish border.

These changes will likely be implemented within the first half of 2021 and this system has been used in the past and has been tested in practice.
Increasing the human resources in the Armed Forces to 133,000 is a priority and the Ministry of National Defense aims to increase the “ceiling” of personnel in the Army from 68,300 combat officers and soldiers to 93,500.
