This is what Poroshenko's spokesman "wrote on Facebook," agencies reported.
The Russian and Ukrainian presidents spoke on the phone.

The Ukrainian president also talked about plans to resolve the crisis in the east of the country in the first phone conversation with Putin since he took office last weekend.

But it was "not possible to conclude what Putin could have responded" from the short Kremlin press release, said the AFP news agency.

"The Ukrainian president informed Vladimir Putin of his plan for resolving the situation in south-eastern Ukraine," said the statement issued by spokesman Dmitry Peskov to Russian agencies.
