Patriarch Kirill of Moscow arrives in Athens for official visit

-- Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia arrived in Athens Saturday
afternoon for an official visit to Greece from June 1 to 7.
He
was received at Athens' “Eleftherios Venizelos” International Airport
by Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and All Greece and members of the Holy
Synod.
A
welcoming official service will later be held at the Church of Agios
Dionysios Areopagite, after the end of which Kirill and Ieronymos will
hold a meeting at the Athens Archdiocese. On Sunday, the two patriarchs
will jointly officiate at the church of Agios Panteleimon, Acharnon.
On
Monday, Patriarch Kirill will meet separately with President of the
Republic Karolos Papoulias and Prime Minister Antonis Samaras, before
departing for Thessaloniki and Mt Athos.
