Vojvodina’s autonomy won’t be abolished, speaker says

NOVI SAD -- Serbian parliament speaker Nebojša Stefanović has stated that he has not received any official request to abolish Vojvodina’s autonomy.

He added that his Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) had no intention of scrapping the province’s autonomy.
“We are not planning on abolishing any autonomy. We are planning on enabling citizens in all parts of Serbia to live completely normal because we are all equally poor,” Stefanović told Radio Television of Vojvodina (RTV).

According to him, “once citizens get to live better, once they have more money, similar initiatives will be much less interesting and we will think much more about how to have a better life”.
