Lobbying, government gives 800.000 USD

Lobbying, government gives 800.000 USD
Last week, the Council of Ministers decided to add 800.000 to the Prime Ministry’s budget to pay a lobbying agreement of 2013.

Decision 29 was never published on the official website of the Council of Ministers, but it was posted on the official bulletin.

The Prime Ministry has added 80 million ALL to its budget, or 800.000 USD, to pay lobbying services in the US.

Although the decision doesn’t quote the name of the company, traces might lead to Patton Boggs.

A few days ago Top Channel published two agreements of the Albanian government with two lobbying companies in the US.

The first payment made to Podesta (720.000 USD) is being paid with monthly instalments of 55.000 USD, with most of the payment already made.

This payment excludes that this new payment is going to Podesta.

The second agreement was that of the amended agreement with Patton Boggs, published by the US Justice Department.

The agreement was signed on December 7th, two months ago, and it didn’t have the price that the government was paying to the US company for the lobbying services.

At this point, the government’s decision seems to be the next bill for Patton Boggs, other 800.000 USD after the millions that were paid since 2008.

If it is the same, the value that the Albanian government pays with the taxpayers’ money goes to 520.000 USD for two companies.

But if the money is not for Patton Boggs, it would mean that besides Patton Boggs and Podesta Group, the government is paying a third company.
