Returned emigrants from Greece, hard to reintegrate

Returned emigrants hard to reintegrate
Dozens of families have returned from emigration at the Picar commune, Gjirokaster. Many of them say that were obliged to return by the Greek crisis, but without many opportunities of employment or integration.

This are had more than 1000 residents, but after the 90s no more than 100 remained. Lina Thana declares that she has returned from emigration after 15 years and she sees no employment opportunities.

The residents have suffered prolonged emigration, which can be seen with the closed houses, amortized roads and abandoned lands. On the other hand, emigration has brought revenues.

Only during this year, more than 80% of the emigrants in this village have returned. Most of them start working their farms, but few go to cities for their products.
