Berisha: Ready to stay longer in Afghanistan


The Albanian Prime Minister, Sali Berisha, gave his maximal evaluations to the NATO summit in Chicago and declared that Albania participated in the decision taken by the NATO members, the consensus for which was undisputable.

“The NATO summit in Chicago was a real success, where excellent preparation and competence prevailed. I can say that consensus dominated in all major decisions. THe main Summit documents passed through full consensus. The organization was excellent and Presiden Obama’s hospitality was wonderful”, Berisha declared.

Berisha spoke about the dinner held by the US President, Barack Obama, in which they discussed the situation in Afghanistan.

Berisha declared that he confirmed to the NATO member leaders Albania’s readiness to give its contribution to this country, beyond the deadline predicted by the NATO.

The Albanian Prime Minister also declared that during his visit he had the opportunity to meet and discuss with leaders of the ally countries, such as the US President Barack Obama, the German Chancellor Angela Merkel, and the newly elected French President, Fraçois Holland, who, according to Berisha, showed great interest about Albania’s development. Berisha also met the British Prime Minister, Cameron, the Italian Prime Minister, Monti, the EU President, Van Rompuy, the European Commission President, Barroso and almost everyone that was present in the summit.
