Albin Kurti addresses President Topi: Mitrovica is being taken by Serbia

 The chairman of the Self Determination Movement Albin Kurti addressed an open letter to the Albanian President Bamir Topi commenting the latest incidents in Mitrovica asking him to start negotiation with the UN and NATO on the North of Kosovo because Albanians there feel endangered and threatened. ‘As you may be aware of, the Republic of Kosovo cannot address this issue in international panels as the UN or NATO. 

While You, as a representative of the Republic of Albania and of Albanians in the UN and NATO can start a discussion on the high risk of ethnic purge of Albanians from Mitrovica. Therefore, there must be a national, political and diplomatic action before the new purge against the Albanians acquires new scales and resembles the ones of 1998, 1999, 2000’, the letter highlights.
