U.S. state department official in Priština

PRIŠTINA -- U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Philip Reeker, who arrived in Kosovo on Monday, met with Priština government officials.
Reeker first had a 90-minute meeting with Prime Minister Hash m Thaci, following by a meeting with Edita Tahiri, the head of Priština's delegation in the talks with Belgrade.
No statements for the media were released after either meeting, and reporters were forbidden from photographing Reeker as he was leaving the Kosovo government building.

Reeker will be spending the night in Priština.

Earlier today, Tahiri told Kosovapress that she and Reeker will discuss the continuation of the Belgrade-Priština dialogue in Brussels, among other things.

Reeker is on a two-week tour of Western Balkan countries, during which he will meet with political leaders and representatives of the non-government sector, the U.S. State Department told Tanjug earlier.

During the tour which wraps up January 26, Reeker will visit "Serbia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Turkey and Austria" - Reeker's office told Tanjug.
