Information Technology will be priority in Albania UN Programme 2012-2016

Prime Minister Sali Berisha received this week, the Mrs.. Zineb Benjelloun-Touimi, named to the post of Resident Coordinator and United Nations Resident Representative Development Programme United Nations in Albania. Prime Minister congratulated Mrs. Zineb Benjelloun-Touimi welcome in Albania and expressed confidence that cooperation with and with the office of the UN will continue in the same way to demonstrate further progress. UN programs - in Albania have given a great support for the reforms undertaken by the government in some priority sectors.

On her part, Ms.. Benjelloun-Touimi said he felt privileged to receive this important task in Albania as a country with great progress in implementing the One UN. On the other hand, it stressed that it is impressed with the remarkable progress made by Albania in the process of European integration, focusing particularly on some key sectors like information technology, gender equality and poverty reduction. She also stressed that the United Nations Organization will continue to support Albania in achieving the Millennium Development Goals, now set for 2015.


Prime Minister Berisha expressed his utmost appreciation for the support given by the Organization of the United Nations so far, while reiterating some priority sectors, which will be included in the new One UN Programme 2012-2016, such as gender equality, support for Information Technology on the program following the Internet in school, fighting corruption, the continuation of the Brain Gain program, as well as environment.
