Athens and Skopje are close to resolving the name dispute

Following the statements that Serbian President Boris Tadic has went from Athens to Skopje with the proposal for the name dispute – Republic of North Macedonia, instead of the FYROM abbreviation; information came from the Greek capital that Macedonia and Greece were close to resolving the name dispute with a proposed name Vardar Macedonia, Macedonian newspaper Utrinski Vesnik reads.

The information has not been confirmed by either side, which means that the two countries are “putting out feelers”. Utrinski Vesnik quotes an article in Greek newspaper Kathimerini, according to which, the two countries were very close to a solution, which will include the name of the longest river in Macedonia.
