The upcoming Congress of Socialist Party has decided to boycott the Albanian parliament
The initiative began inside the Congress when a group of former and current Socialist Party luminaries have - in an open letter relating to the upcoming party congress - asked party leader Edi Rama to pull out of the Socialist's leadership race following the movement's defeat in the June 28 parliamentary elections.
The Congress delegates in total 1500 member, have voted unanimity to don`t recognize any new government and other institutions of new Albanian parliament, since the election vote to be guarantied by Albanian authorities. SP Leader Edi Rama calls the Albanians in opposition to be ready for new massive protest against any government that is to be composed next days.
This is for the second time that the Socialist Party, has boycotted the Albanian parliament. On June 1996 for the first time the opposition, Socialist party denounced the violation of politic votes during the elections.
