Car explodes in front of Albanian parliament

TIRANA, Albania (AP)
Police say a car parked in front of Albania's Parliament has exploded, but there were no injuries.

Police spokesman Klodian Branko says the Mercedes owned by a private company exploded at about 11 p.m. in Tirana, Albania's capital, damaging windows in nearby buildings.

Police are investigating the cause of the blast and declined to provide any more information.
Albania held parliamentary elections June 28 that are considered an important test for the tiny Balkan country's progress of democracy.

Final results have yet to be announced amid complaints by political parties.
