Athens does not support the United Kingdom's possible exit from the European Union, Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras said Thursday.
"So, today we have a lot of things to discuss,
not only about refugee issues, also about Brexit, but I think that this
is not time for exits in Europe, it’s time for more cooperation,"
Tsipras said, arriving at the summit of European leaders in Brussels.
London is looking to curb social benefits for EU migrants, for more
powers to be granted to the bloc members' national parliaments, greater
protections for non-euro countries in the bloc, measures to strengthen
the European single market, and to ensure that the United Kingdom is not
obliged to adhere to the EU’s commitment to an "ever closer union."
